Meet your nutrition & culinary professional – Joseph Kasnadi!
Before foraying into private practice nutrition, Joseph’s background started with the decision to study Biology with the University of Maryland, exploring career paths in medical, research, and ultimately biotech manufacturing industries. After years of lab tech experience working for companies like AstraZenica, Thermo Fisher Scientific, and Smith & Nephew a transition was started, moving towards food manufacturing. Having been interested in food and cooking since a young age, Joseph explored that interest in part time work at places like Applebee’s Bar & Grill, Wegman’s Food Markets, and Guiness Opengate Brewery doing manners of food prep and service.
To make the change, Joseph obtained additional training in Culinary with Stratford, and Johnson & Wales Universities, as well as Food Science & Nutrition with the Universities of Maine, and Kansas State. He continued towards that career path, now working as a Food Scientist & Research Chef with the seasoning company Elite Spice, obtaining relevant credentials including Certified Food Scientist, Certified Culinary Scientist, and Certified Culinarian. The combinations of backgrounds, schools, and mascots of terrapin, wildcat, and black bear were the namesake of the resulting business, Menagerie, or a collection of people or things.
Blending The Art and Science of Food

CROSS FUNCTIONAL SOLUTIONS FOR ALL YOUR DIETARY NEEDS
Further pursuit of interests rooted in family history and original potential in medical next led towards nutrition. Menagerie Nutrition offers services of not just nutrition consultation, but also food recipe development, and culinary instruction, further leveraging Joseph’s background to perform as a Personal Chef Scientist.
In his spare time, Joseph spends much still dealing with food. He spends a good deal trying and tweaking new recipe ideas, as well as exploring new restaurants and markets. On less common occasions and as mentioned before, Joseph does a great deal of travel to explore the food, culture, and language. Further away from food, Joseph enjoys music, occasional games and sports, as well as owns a cat and a bird.
